The witches' coven is a cut location mentioned in excised dialogue from Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. It was not referenced in any form in the final product.
Behind the scenes[]
Cut Disguise Form dialogue for villagers was to concern the witches' coven. The relevant line read: "ahh... yes... the witches' coven IS nearby... they pray to a dark god lost even to legend". It is unclear where in Nosgoth the coven was to be situated, but another deleted line suggests it was near a city.[Blood Omen/Cut content][1] The dark god mentioned is presumably Hash'ak'gik; the coven was possibly, therefore, affiliated with Azimuth or Mortanius.[Blood Omen][2]
Although the coven did not appear in Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, some vestiges of its existence appeared in future media. Both the construct of the elder gods from the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver comic and the Seer of Blood Omen 2 are referred to as "witch", and another sect of Hash'ak'gik worshippers appeared in Legacy of Kain: Defiance in the form of the Hash'ak'gik cult.[Soul Reaver comic][Blood Omen 2/7][Defiance/10]
The background lore of Nosgoth also expanded upon this area; implying that the witches coven' may have been formed from order of Cenobites who had fled Avernus when Azimuth began summoning Demons. It was further suggested that the coven went into hiding and eventually discovered the secrets of the Blood fountains before emerging in the events of Soul Reaver to participate in the War for Nosgoth as the Prophets of the Lost Seers of Avernus.
