Legacy of Kain Wiki

We extend special congratulations to The Lost Worlds, Legacy of Kain's premier fansite for cut content and hacking tools, which celebrates its 10th anniversary today in style: in close collaboration with site founder Ben Lincoln, long-time community member Divine Shadow has created and launched an incredible, all-new subsection devoted to Legacy of Kain: The Dark Prophecy, filled with comprehensive information and thorough scrutiny and analyses on the facts and fictions surrounding the cancelled game. What's more, it is apparently only a preliminary version of the section, with much more to follow.

Among several other updates, the original hacking tools at the site (which have proven invaluable to this wiki's development) have each been updated for added Windows compatibility, with special mention going to Andrew Fradley/Vampmaster's ModelEx utility, which is also now capable of extracting static models from Soul Reaver 2. These applications' source code has also been publicly released, and the site's long-absent Technical Documents section is back.

Perhaps most saliently of all for our work here, Ben Lincoln has decided to release the official, original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain dialogue scripts which he has possessed as early as 2002, but has never posted. There is a very considerable amount of cut and reworked data in both files, not the least of which includes an inarguable confirmation that Irmok the Mad is indeed the canonical name of the old lunatic met by Kain in Steinchencröe, further evidence that not even the series' developers know how to properly spell Anarcrothe's name, proof that Malek's Bastion was at one point intended to be irrevocably destroyed within the game's scenario, and several extraordinary deleted lines and scenes.

It is impossible to overestimate just how strongly the The Lost Worlds, with its excellent insider info, pristine presentation and constant reliability has impacted on our ongoing improvement drive for this site, and it continues to serve as an inspiration even now. So many thanks from the Legacy of Kain Wiki to Blincoln, Divine Shadow, Vampmaster and everyone involved in the anniversary update. The sheer volume of new knowledge released today will probably be enough to keep our to-do lists at the wiki going for another ten years! :)
