The Dimension Guardian was the individual born to represent, serve, and protect the Pillar of Dimension, one of the Pillars of Nosgoth. All Guardians belonged to the oligarchy of sorcerers known as the Circle of Nine.

Profile

The Dimension Guardian is the position of the Pillar Guardian who guards the Pillar of Dimension.

The dimension guardian's powers would have been based upon seeing into different dimensions and summoning items and even living beings from those realms, the items summoned would depend on the guardians life as the demons Azimuth summoned were banished upon her death and thus the beings summoned were loyal to the guardian as the guardian was their umbilical cord to the land of nosgoth.

As with other guardians few of their particular abilities or skills are directly named or identified, however some sources describing the powers of individual guardians give clues that may apply to other Dimension Guardians.

Azimuth is described in Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain as having "magical planing skills [that] summoned demons through runes inscribed in human blood.". Descriptions of her Pillar token - Azimuth's Eye - also elicited a power to see into other dimensions:

Azimuth’s third eye, a gift from the Pillar of Dimension, allowed the Planer sight into other realms.

Silicon Knights description of Azimuth meanwhile includes the following notes on her abilities:

Azimuth is an explorer of alien realms. Her magic opens portals and doorways to other dimensions, allowing the creatures within to escape... After the insanity struck, her magic was left intact, but her mind was blasted into obscurity. She is now a raving lunatic that revels in the pain and misfortune of others. The magic she indiscriminately conjures has left numerous cities at the mercy of inhuman demons and creatures that delight in spreading pain. In many ways, Azimuth is an analogy to Nero, who played a fiddle while Rome burned... She revels in the destruction she has wrought with sadistic glee, a trait that was present even before she was driven insane by Nupraptor's magic.

Later in the series another Dimension Guardian the Original Guardian of Dimension is encountered by Raziel. In his battle he used teleportation and projectile attack like Spatial Rift and Blast of Distortion . The official strategy guide offered the following on his powers:

This specter, the original Vampire Guardian of Dimension, long ago served the Pillars by controlling and defining the very boundaries, consistency and form of space itself.

Ultimately Daniel Cabuco described the powers of the dimension guardians on his forums as "Ability to see/transfer between dimensions like Spectral and Demons Realms"
